William Winter Wellons

William Winter Bill Wellons, Sr., age 71 of Purgitsville, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, December 24, 2014 at his residence. Born September 23, 1943 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Levi Thomas Wellons and Frances (Winter) Wellons. He was a member of the Harpers Chapel Church of the Brethren, a member of the Hardy County Rod & Gun Club and a member of the Local #99 Steam Engineers union. A son, William Winter Wellons, Jr. and a granddaughter, Heather Wellons, also preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife, Mary Jane (Helmick) Wellons, a son, Frederick Christopher Wellons of Lanham, MD; a brother, Thomas (Diane) Wellons of Deale, MD; a sister, Roseanne (Donald) Vernon of La Plata, MD; four grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Nancy B. Helmick, his Momma and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, December 28, 214 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Chester Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends from1:00PM until time of services at 2:00 PM.
