William Lester Koontz

William Lester Willie Koontz, age 79 of Maple Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, October 15, 2015 at his residence. Born May 31, 1936 in Fisher, WV, he was the son of the late Lester William Koontz and Bessie Lee (George) Koontz. He was a US Airforce veteran and a member of the John M. Golliday Post # 64 American Legion. He was a 25 year veteran of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company 46. A daughter, Elaine Davidson, a sister, Dora Lee Wratchford and two brothers, Leo George & Carter Koontz, preceded him in death. Surviving is his loving companion of 43 years, Barbara Davidson; three sons, Kenneth Davidson, Jeff Davidson and William Buck"(wife Lacey) Koontz of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Tammy Davy and Michele Koontz (companion Luis Rebollar) of Moorefield, WV; two brothers, Malin Koontz of Petersburg, WV and Oscar George of Harpers Ferry, WV; a sister, Bonnie Hartman of Moorefield, WV; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Air Force at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
