William Carlyle Cox died on Friday, October 24 at the age 67 from a heart attack while hiking the Shenandoah Mountains in West Virginia. Bill was born to Carlyle Nelson Cox and Reva Rigby on April 9, 1941 in Fairview Utah. He was the eldest of 6 boys. He was the class president and valedictorian his senior year of North Sanpete High from which he graduated in 1958. He served faithfully in the Central Atlantic States mission from 1960 to 1962 as a Latter-day Saint missionary. He graduated from Utah State in 1965, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Shortly thereafter he took a job with the Federal Government in the Washington DC area where he met Clarice Christensen; they were married in the LDS Logan Temple on May 5, 1967. Bill traveled extensively throughout the world including living in; Iran, Ethiopia, England, and the Philippians. He enjoyed the outdoors including hiking, fishing and hunting with a passion for birding. Bill is survived by his wife, Clarice, and their 5 children; William Glenn, Douglas Alan, Reva Marie, Jennifer Leigh, and David Nelson, and 13 grandchildren; Laura, Allyson, Brandon, Madison, Dalan, Easton, Haven, Carson, Victoria, Jillian, Rebekah, Sabrina, and Craig. He was preceded in death by both his parents and one brother, Ivan Woodell. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am in Fairview Utah, Monday November 3rd at the LDS chapel located at 122 South State Street, Fairview UT 84629, and he will be buried in the Fairview Cemetery.
