Wiley Edward Fields

Wiley Edward Fields, age 92 of Justamere Road, Old Fields, WV, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 10, 2021 at his residence. Born on April 14, 1928 in Seagrove, NC, he was a son of the late Clifford Guy Fields and Bertha Cleo McNeil Fields. His wife, Mary Ella Turner Fields preceded him in death in November 2012. Brothers, Franklin and Clifford also preceded him in death thereby making him the last member of his immediate family.

Wiley enjoyed hunting when he was able and after retiring as a carpenter from public schools in Maryland, he enjoyed making wooden wind chimes and beautiful walking sticks. He was a trooper for Maryland State Police and was one of the Motorcycle Patrol Officers. He enjoyed reading, had hundreds of books but especially enjoyed accounts relating to WWII. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Donna (Donnie) Southerly of Old Fields, WV, and numerous cousins and friends.

Inurnment Services with Military Honors will be held at a later date at the Olivet Cemetery.
