Wesley Alan Thompson, age 77 of Powder Springs Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday morning, February 23, 2024, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on February 6, 1947, in Mount Solon, VA, he was a son of the late Roy Crites and Wilma Frances Crowe Thompson. His wife of 43 years, Sharon C. Hose Thompson, preceded him in death in May 2014. A brother, Jack also preceded him in death.
A man of the outdoors, Wesley found solace and joy in camping, fishing, and tending to his beloved garden. His green thumb and passion for nature were evident in the lush bounty he cultivated. In his downtime, Wesley could often be found immersed in computer games or peacefully watching the history channel.
Wesley leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his daughters, Danita (Jimmy) Bothwell of Moorefield, WV, and Misty (Jerry) Timbrook of Shanks, WV. His dear sister, Carol Ours of Petersburg, WV, also mourns his passing. Wesley is fondly remembered by his ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life honoring Wesley's remarkable journey will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel at 107 Washington Street. Pastor Dan Sterns will officiate the service, starting at 6:00 PM. Prior to the ceremony, friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share memories from 5:00 PM. This will be an occasion to reminisce, to pay tribute, and to find solace in the memories of a life well-lived.
