Wayne William Shockey, Sr.

Wayne William Shockey, Sr., age 74 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, November 29, 2006 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born November 22, 1932 in Hardy Co., WV, he was a son of the late James C. & Sarah C. (Hose) Shockey. Wayne was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren and had retired from Rockingham Poultry in October 1999 after 49 years of employment. Surviving is a daughter, Joan Taylor of Burlington, WV; a son, Wayne W. Shockey, Jr. of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Donald Shockey of Moorefield, WV; three sisters, Mary Ratliff & Myrtle Webster of Moorefield, WV and Pauline Baldwin of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren, Christy Rockwell and Stacey Bowman and five great-grandchildren, Annie & Lily Rockwell and T.J., Jacob & Karli Bowman. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren near Moorefield with Pastor Don Knotts officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 6 ? 8 PM Friday at the Fraley Funeral Home. Mr. Shockey will be taken to the church 1 hour prior to services on Saturday.
