Wardney Allen Sherman

Wardney Allen Sherman, age 78 of Millboro, VA formerly of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday evening, January 23, 2022 at Augusta Health Center in Fisherville, VA. Born on November 5, 1943 in Hardy County, WV, he was a son of the late William Highberger Sherman and Ada May Cook Sherman. Two brothers and a sister also preceded him in death.

Wardney was a 1961 graduate of Moorefield High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, anything outside. When he was relinquished to stay indoors, he enjoyed reading.

Surviving are three brothers, Eugene (Hilda) Sherman of Charlottesville, VA, George (Joan) Sherman of Jacksonville, FL and Lawrence R. (Bessie) Sherman of Baker, WV; two sisters, Doris Sherman of Fisher, WV and Linda (Ray) Bergdoll of Moorefield, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday March 5, 2022 with Pastor Harold George officiant in the Newhouse Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Moorefield Veteran's Honor Guard.
