Wanda Weatherholtz

Wandalee Virginia Weatherholtz, age 84 of Moorefield, WV passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, March 5, 2024, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on July 3, 1939 in Moorefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Robert Allen Riggleman and Pearl Virginia Shockey Southerly. Her husband, Albert Philip Weatherholtz preceded her in death in August 2022. A son, McClain Weatherholtz; sisters, Mildred Smith, Frances Stroop & Edna Strawderman; brothers, Robert Southerly & Melvin Southerly also preceded her in death.

Wanda had retired from Pilgrim’s Pride (Cook Plant). She was an avid reader, enjoyed sporting events, especially supporting her family. Her children she loved unconditionally, but spoiling her beloved grandchildren was her true passion. Her unwavering love, kindness, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who crossed her path.

Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving family members: son Travis (Belinda) Weatherholtz of Moorefield, daughters Cheryl Alt of Moorefield, and Pam (Tommy) Clark of Lahmansville, as well as brother Charles (Joan) Southerly of Moorefield. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren who were her greatest treasures.

Funeral services to celebrate Wandalee’s remarkable life will be held at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel at 107 Washington Street on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Pastor Dennis Helmick will lead the service, and interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
