Walter Stevenson Funkhouser,

Walter Stevenson Tim Funkhouser, Sr., age 83 of Old Capon Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, May 23, 2011 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born June 10, 1927 in Fabius, WV, he was the son of the late Winfield Stevenson Funkhouser and Nora Virginia (Park) Funkhouser. His wife Helen (Kibler) Funkhouser preceded him in death in September 1990. Sisters, Eunice Bradfield & Mary Morris and a grandson, Walter S. Funkhouser, III also preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Walt Funkhouser (wife Wreatha) of Moorefield, WV & Jerry Funkhouser (wife Brenda) of Maysville, WV; two daughters, Cathy F. Crites (husband Matthew) & Faye Sherman (husband Lloyd) of Moorefield, WV; two brothers, Stanley Funkhouser of LaPlata, MD & Gene Funkhouser of Kirby, WV; four sisters, Glee Kasper of Frederick, MD, Mazie Plummer of McLean, VA, Nova Funk of Kirby, WV and Nina McDonald of Gaithersburg, MD; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren, with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Asbury Cemetery, Bean Settlement, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 4 & 6 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
