Wallace Gochenour Sherman

Wallace Gochenour Sherman, age 82 of Duffey Drive, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday evening, December 18, 2006, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born April 1, 1924 in Hardy Co., WV, he was the son of the late I. Kenna & Anna Mae (Charlton) Sherman. He was a US Army veteran of WWII; a member of the John M. Golliday Post# 64 American Legion and was a member of the Rig Christian Church. He was preceded in death by one brother. Surviving is his loving wife of 60 years, Lona E. (Carr) Sherman; two daughters, Sharon Martin of Moorefield, WV and Barbara Barr of Berryville, VA; four grandchildren, Christopher P. Barr, Kelly J. Shockey, Michael E. Barr & Matthew H. Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, C.J., Hannah, Elizabeth, Katie & Eric Barr and Brooke & Emily Shockey. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, December 21, 2006, at the Rig Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army & the Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 7 - 9 PM Wednesday at the Fraley Funeral Home. Mr. Sherman will be taken to the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.
