Tilton Eugene ?Tilt? Bowen, age 79 of Mount Olive Road, Baker, WV, formerly of Greenwich, OH, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 at his residence. Born December 8, 1929 in Delaware, OH, he was the son of the late Herbert F. Bowen & Verona (Tilton) Murray. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He had been a casual labor Forest Firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service. He had operated a saw mill, sold turquoise and operated Bowen Blades. He was a former member of the Greenwich American Legion, and a life member of the N.R.A. An infant daughter and a nephew preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, James D. (wife Terra) Bowen of Baker, WV & Shawn T. (wife Angela) Bowen of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Michael (wife Danna) Murray of Norwalk, OH; two sisters, Mary Beth (late husband Jim) Hartley of Greenwich, OH & Carol (husband Jim) Kocher of Norwalk, OH; a step-sister, Marlene Fobes of Courtland, OH; and six grandchildren, Christian, Mariah, Jacob, Mark, Julie & Anna. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Moorefield Brethren Church with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment with military graveside rites was held at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich, OH on February 11, 2009.
