Thomas Randolph Kuykendall, age 78 of Water Street Drive, Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, June 8, 2011 at the E. A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Born June 8, 1933 in Peru, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest C. & Mary Etta (Spitzer) Kuykendall. He retired from the US Army after 21 years of service to his country serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion, a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church, a member of Gideons International, was the Chaplain in the workplace and had also worked and then retired from the South Branch Valley Railroad. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife of almost 56 years, Marge (Cawley) Kuykendall; two sons, ?Randy? Kuykendall (Wanda) of North Augusta, SC & Kevin Kuykendall (Tina) of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Susan Harless (Tim) of Wharton, WV & JoLee Burns (Scott) of Springfield, WV; three brothers, Ray Kuykendall (Shirley) of Broadway, VA, Ernest Kuykendall of Moorefield, WV and Stanley Kuykendall (Velma) of Verona, VA; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Old Fields Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Walnut Grove Gardens, Rt. 55 Moorefield, WV with Military Graveside Rites Accorded by the US Army. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM at the church.
