Steven Wayne Wolfe, age 68 of Baker, WV, passed from this world Monday evening, March 25, 2024, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on November 15, 1955 in Harrisonburg, VA, he was a son of the late Wayne Melvin Wolfe and Wanda Lee Snyder Wolfe. He was raised by his second mom, Molly Ann Taylor Wolfe.
A man of many talents and passions, Steven left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. A skilled outdoorsman, he found solace in the quiet moments spent fishing for trout and hunting in the lush wilderness. His green thumb and love for gardening yielded bountiful harvests that he proudly canned and shared with family and friends. His woodworking creations stand as a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication to his craft. Prior to retirement, he spent his working days at Perry Engineering alongside his brothers, creating memories and building a legacy together.
Surviving is his wife, Wilma Lee Hoover Wolfe; five brothers, Randall (Joyce) Wolfe, Andrew (Heidi) Wolfe, Nick (Brenda) Wolfe, Wayne T. (Penny) Wolfe and Ben (Tamara) Wolfe all of Moorefield, WV; two sisters, Tracy (Craig) Sherman and Lorena (Todd) Snyder, both of Moorefield, WV; his 4-legged companion, Ozzie and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In honor of Steven's life, a graveside service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Asbury Church Cemetery, North River Road, Baker, WV. Led by Pastor Don Evans, the ceremony will be a time to remember the impact Steven had on those around him and to share stories of his remarkable journey.
Memorials in his honor may be directed to the Wardensville Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 273, Wardensville, WV 26851.
