Stanley Guy Dolly

Stanley Guy Dolly of Ostrich Lane, Maysville, WV, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2015 at his residence. Born August 29, 1926 in Key, WV, Pendleton County, he was a son of the late Oscar S. Dolly and Lennie (Thompson) Dolly. He was a member of the Harness Run Church of the Brethren. All of his siblings, four brothers and ten sisters preceded him in death. A tinkerer, he marveled at being able to fix anything or do anything. He loved to work and found comfort in it, but enjoyed the outdoors the same, fishing and hunting. A true patriot, every day until he was unable, he would raise the American flag on the flagpole, and removed it every evening. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 68 years, Irene G. (Whiteman) Dolly; a daughter, Carolyn Ann Cox of Dallas, TX; two sons, Larry Dolly of Maysville, WV and Terry Dolly of Felton, PA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with the Rev. Carol Krause officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Pine Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 4 PM & 6 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
