Shirley Ann Smith

Shirley Ann Smith, age 87 of Cherry Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday afternoon, March 13, 2023 at her residence with her family at her bedside. Born in October 22, 1935 in Cumberland, MD, she was a daughter of the late Brook Rennick Crites and Anna Berlyn Southerly Crites. Her husband Paul Dean Smith preceded her in death in January 2016. A sister, Chloe Maude Riggleman also preceded her in death.

Shirley loved gardening, raising the vegetables for canning that she used for cooking for her family, the family that she loved so much. She helped raise her grandchildren as she loved being the caregiver for so many for so many years. She will be missed by all who loved and cherished her.

Surviving is a son, Timothy P. (Bonnie) Smith of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Shirley L. Smith and Debra Kay (Chris) Sites of Moorefield, WV; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with another on the way; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Riggleman of Fisher, WV and Anita Bosley of Old Fields, WV; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Cathy Crites.

Services will be held at a later date.
