Shirley Jane McKinley

Shirley Jane McKinley, age 79 of 7^th Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday evening, January 31, 2022 at her residence. Born on November 25, 1942, in Kingwood, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Edward Moats and Elsie Goldie Sisler Moats. Her husband, William Franklin McKinley, Sr. preceded her in death in November 2016. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Shirley enjoyed crafts, puzzles, puzzle books and the old Westerns on television during the colder months. Her passion was camping and fishing, which is where you would find her in the warmer seasons. She was an avid angler and could out fish most of her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Cathy J. McKinley of Moorefield, WV & Crystal D. (John) Carroll of Mt. Vernon, TX; a son, William F. “Billy” (Connie) McKinley, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Cora Wilson of Reedsville, WV and Dora Lea Everly of Kingwood, WV; a brother, Arthur Moats of Albright, WV; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Moorefield Assembly of God Church, 139 Chipley Lane with Pastor D. J. Taylor officiant. Due to the current COVID-19 recommendations, wearing of masks and social distancing by individuals unvaccinated is recommended.
