Sherry Dale Ours

Sherry Dale Ours, age 66 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday evening, December 8, 2022, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV surrounded by her family. Born on June 25, 1956, in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Dale Franklin Hose, Sr. and was raised by her grandparents, Virginia "Nan" and Albert Hose.

Sherry’s children were blessed to have a stay-at-home mom while growing up and being an incredible role model. She was a guiding light through challenges and her gentle spirit will forever be missed.

Despite Sherry’s chronic health issues, her faith remained strong, and she would always find joy in every single day. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Anytime someone needed a word of encouragement, Sherry was there to provide it.  She read her bible daily and often shared scriptures via phone, text, email or on social media.

Her biggest joy was her children and grandchildren. Sherry loved spending time with her family. She cherished family gatherings and loved taking pictures and making collages.

Surviving is the love of her life, her loving husband of 50 years, Hank Randall Ours, their children, Amy (Joseph) Kisanga of Rockville, MD, Hank “Randall” Ours, Jr. of Moorefield, WV and Sheril (Justin) Plum of Moorefield, WV; six grandchildren, Jake Ours, Lane Ours, Damian Iman, Sarafina Kisanga, Slade Plum and Braxton Plum; brother, Ronnie Hose of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Sharleane Price of Memphis, TN; numerous nieces and nephews and other cherished family members. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM December 31, 2022 at the Moorefield Church of God, 223 South Elm Street with Pastor Chris Whetzel officiant. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM (Noon) until time of services.
