Ruby Ellen Snyder Mason, age 75 of Fisher, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at J W Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born July 9, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Paxton Snyder and Ona Dale Smith Snyder. A daughter, Joy Snyder Coby, her husband, John D. Mason, five brothers, and two infant sisters also preceded her in death.
Ruby was a social butterfly and enjoyed nothing more than time and conversation with family and friends. She was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye. She was so proud of each of them and always carried their pictures with her.
Ruby was a lover of food and that love led her to spending her afternoons at the Senior Center for lunch. She developed sweet friendships there and enjoyed trips with the other ladies to local restaurants. A devout Christian, Ruby was a faithful churchgoer, and loved to listen and sing the old gospel hymns.
Surviving are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Meaghan Coby Mace (Jesse) of Fisher, WV, Christian Coby (Mike) and Paxton Coby of Morgantown, WV, Spencer Coby (Ashley) of Baker, WV, and Emmaline and Colt Mace. Ruby is also survived by a son-in-law, Donald Coby, of Moorefield, WV, and three brothers, Charles Snyder (Diane), Michael Snyder (Kathy), and Nevin Snyder, all of Fisher, WV, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Kessel Cemetery with Pastor Steve Snyder officiant. Interment will follow. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, wearing of masks and social distancing is requested at the cemetery.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to those that have been involved in Ruby’s care over the last several years. They would specifically like to thank Ruby’s niece, Tina Barr and husband, Rod, the ladies at Select In Home Services and Hahn Medical, and the staff at J W Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Memorials may be directed to the Joy Snyder Coby Memorial Foundation, 1508 Hutter Road, Fisher, WV 26818.
