Roy Lester Haggerty

Roy Lester Haggerty, age 79 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, June 10, 2008 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born May 15, 1929 in Hampshire Co., WV, he was the son of the late Lawrence G. Haggerty and the late Bessie (High) Haggerty Miller. A grandson, Jeremy Crites and a half brother, Jack Haggerty preceded him in death. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and an oiler with the US Merchant Marines. Surviving is a daughter, Debbie Crites of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Dolly H. Shoemaker of Ridgeley, WV; a half-brother, Donald Miller of Purgitsville, WV; two grandchildren, Jerud Crites & Rachael C. McCausley and a great-granddaughter, Katie McCausley. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with Pastors Lucy & Russell Webster officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army & Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 6 ? 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
