Roy Elmer Gibson

Roy Elmer Gibson, age 75 of Mt. Acres, Moorefield, WV passed away Sunday morning at his residence. Born December 23, 1934 in Bristol, TN, he was the son of the late Ezra Monroe & Mary Elizabeth (Barnett) Gibson. His wife, Catherine (Hartman) Gibson preceded him in death in November 2005. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons, Roy M. Gibson and James D. Gibson of Moorefield, WV, Charles L. Gibson of Rhappahannock, VA and Steven R. Gibson of Culpepper, VA; three daughters, Pam J. Whetzel of Moorefield, WV, Melissa L. Whetzel of Maysville, WV and Bobbi Jo Tipppetts of Fisher, WV; a brother, Leonard Gibson of Madison Co., VA; two sisters, Emma Jean Drone of Madison CO., VA & Ruby Lawson of Kingsport, TN; thirteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Matt Lyon officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM.
