Ronald Lee Ronny Lewis, age 76 of Hilltop Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday evening, June 2, 2017 at his residence. Born on April 20, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Joseph Walter Lewis, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Green Lewis. A brother, Joseph Walter Lewis, Jr also preceded him in death. Lutheran by faith, Ronnie had retired to the Moorefield area after retiring from Baltimore Gas & Electric as a Quality Control Inspector. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, was a marathon runner having ran the Marine Corps Marathon, was a volunteer fireman with the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company and enjoyed playing softball. Softball was the sport of his daughters as well and he helped coach them through the years. A woodworker, his skills were always tested as he often times had to make four of the same projects to satisfy the family. From Baltimore he was indeed an Orioles fan and watched them always. He was widely known around the Valley View Golf Course playing a round with friends or serving as a gofer and just helping wherever needed. For many years he assisted with coaching the Moorefield High School Golf Team. Surviving is his wife, Irene I. (Drexler) Lewis; two daughters, Shelly Lynn Lewis-Powell of Annapolis, MD and Denise Lane Lewis Claytor of Pasadena, MD and his two wonderful grandchildren, Morgan Alexandra Madison and Benjamin Lewis Madison. A celebration of Life was held at 2:00 PM, July 9, 2017 at the Community Gospel Church of Pasadena, 8223 Fort Smallwood Road, Pasadena, MD with Wayne Hepting as celebrant. A celebration of remembrance for Ronny will be held at Valley View Golf Course beginning at 6:30 PM on August 26, 2017 with refreshments following the service. Come join the family to honor and celebrate Ronny's life at his second home.
