Robert Harding Hill, Jr.

Robert Harding Hill Jr, age 76 of Delray, WV passed away Friday afternoon, January 28, 2022 at the Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV. Born on November 28, 1945, in White Sulphur Springs, WV, he was a son of the late Robert Harding Hill, Sr. and Ruth Evelyn Hay Hill. A sister, Ann also preceded him in death.

Robert, or often referred to Bob, Bobby or his CB handle, " Grumpy " during his trucking days. Bob was always willing to lend a hand to help his family and friends out, and he would give you the shirt off his back.

Bob's career led him to traveling to many different places, with many miles. He took a break from all the traveling and worked on bridges and construction, but in time he found himself behind the wheel of the big truck again.  He retired from Owen's and Dove of Manassas, VA.

Surviving is his ex-wife and caretaker Susie Hill of Keyser, WV; children/stepchildren, James Belt and Jeff (Pam) Shanholtz of Romney, WV; Michelle (Troy) Turner of Maysville, WV; Susan Belt (Bud Shaw) of Delray, WV; a brother Charles Evanich and a sister, Cynthia Smith.  Grandchildren/Step-grandchildren Shelby (Noah), Mallory, Brandon and Samantha (Randy) and great-grandchildren/great-stepchildren, Ember, Mariah, Chayse, Annessa, and Jaxston.

Bob leaves behind countless friends and friends-like-family, leaving an impression on many people throughout his life. Bob loved to go camping, working on older vehicles, going to car shows and flea markets, but he cherished time with his family the most.

At his request, his body will be cremated. A celebration of his life for all of Bob’s family and friends will be held in Spring 2022. More details will follow.
