James Robert Hefner, age 76 of Morningside Drive, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, August 10, 2004 at his residence. Born June 14, 1928 in Hardy Co., WV, he was a son of the late James B. & Angie Blanche (Crites) Hefner. He was a Charter member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren and a member of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company-46 for over 38 years where he served as Treasurer for over 30 years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W. Robert retired from Hardman?s Hardware, the former Bean?s Hardware in Moorefield in 1999 after 9 and 30 years respectively. Surviving is his wife O. Dale (George) Hefner; a son, Robert W. ?Bob? Hefner and wife Debbie of Moorefield, WV; two brothers, Wayne Hefner and Charlie Hefner of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Gelia Ours of Moorefield, WV; a special granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2004 at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren with Pastor Harold Garber officiating. A Fireman?s procession to the Olivet Cemetery will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army and the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard at the interment. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 7 ? 9 PM Thursday at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren, the corner of Clay and Washington Streets.
