Robert Fred Forkner, Jr.

Robert Fred Forkner, Jr., age 86 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday morning, April 10, 2010 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born March 25, 1924 in Princeton, WV he was a son of the late Robert F. Forkner, Sr. & Beulah (Ashburn) Forkner. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School; a US Navy Veteran of WWII; a graduate of Shepherd College and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was retired from the WVDHHR and was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. His wife, Mary Louise (Hutter) Forkner preceded him in death in July 2003. An infant brother and three sisters also preceded him in death. Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Joan (Hutter) Weatherholtz of Columbia, MD and Helen ?Sammy? Martin of Moorefield, WV; nephews, Holly Martin of Moorefield, WV, Fred Detrow of Hagerstown, MD, Dale Detrow of Lake Wales, FL, Kenneth Detrow of Martinsburg, WV; nieces, Sharon Wratchford of Moorefield, WV, Karin Maxson of Ravenswood, WV, Cindy Kight of Midlothian, VA & Linda Bingaman of Hagerstown, MD, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St, with the Rev. Karin Maxson officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call after 8:00 AM Monday and the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM (Noon) until time of services at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
