Reuben Joseph Smith, age 94 of Maple Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015 at the Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born November 22, 1920 in Hardy Co., WV, he was the son of the late David Edward Smith and Dorothy (Woerner) Smith . His wife of 73 years, Edith M. (Sine) Smith preceded him in death in March 2013. A son Wayne, a brother David and a sister Mildred also preceded him in death. Reuben was the first Used Car Dealer in Moorefield and the former owner/operator of Smiths Service Station in North Moorefield for 40 years. He was a US Army veteran of WW II. Surviving are two sons, Joe (Ginger) Smith of Kessel, WV and Rick (Rob) Smith of Old Fields, WV; a daughter, Linda (Bill) Keller of Fisher, WV; two special children, Denise Fittipaldi of Maysville, WV & Joe Fittipaldi of Old Fields, WV; six grandchildren, David Alexander, Angie Dawson, Matt Smith, Mark Smith, Vickie Fahey and Joanna Timbrook; eleven great-grand-children, Brandon, Corrine, Tyler, Bethany, Rachael, Isaiah, Connor, Emily, Sean, Nathan & Whitney; a great-great-granddaughter, Arayah; three sisters, Audrey Fittipaldi of Petersburg, WV, Trixie Houdershell of Berryville, VA and Dorothy Veach of San Bernardino, CA and much loved nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army. The family will receive friends from 5 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
