Ralph Miller Charlton

Ralph Miller ?Cub? Charlton, age 82 of Maple Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, May 23, 2006, at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born November 17, 1923 in Moorefield, he was the son of the late Salem & Minnie (Strawderman) Charlton. Cub was employed most of his life by the South Branch Stockyards working for the late Bud Miley & John Coffman. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Surviving is his loving wife of 60 years, Esta Mae (Shields) Charlton; a son, Ralph L. Charlton and wife Lisa of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Norton and husband Mike of Greenwood, DE; a brother, Paul Charlton of Buena Vista, VA; five grandchildren, Kimberly Kostiw, Amy Brown, Michele Jamison, Tiffany Carey & Ray Norton and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with Pastor Harold Garber officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army & the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard at Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 ? 8 PM Wednesday at the Fraley Funeral Home. A Veteran?s Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening.
