Pete Ronald Salonish, Jr., age 42 of Fisher, WV passed away Friday afternoon, July 5, 2002 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born May 31, 1960 in Winber, PA he was a son of Pete R. & MaryAnn (Landi) Salonish of Ridgeley, WV. He was a 1978 graduate of Hyndman, PA High School; a veteran of the US Army having served from 1978-1988, an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He was employed by Grant Memorial Hospital as a Paramedic in the ER and for Grant County Ambulance; he also worked as a Paramedic for Fraley Ambulance of Moorefield and for Valley Medical; he was a past member of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Co.-46. He is survived in addition to his parents by a Son, Adam Salonish in Hawaii; Daughters, Rebecca K. Salonish in Michigan and April Nicole Salonish of Ridgeley, WV; Brothers, Andrew J. Salonish and wife Glenda of Ridgeley, WV & Nicholas G. Salonish and wife Julie of Cumberland, MD; several nieces and nephews; His beloved companion, Carolyn Heavner and children Joshua VanMeter, Christina Heavner and granddaughter Sierra. Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at the Fraley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Stump officiating. Interment followed at the Olivet Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites were accorded by the US Army and the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard.
