Paul Harden Leatherman, age 91 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 2020, at the Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV with his family at his side. Born on June 28, 1928, in Moorefield, WV, he was a son of the late Ocie Arnold Leatherman and Martha Elizabeth Affleck Leatherman. Sisters, Ava M. Aylor, Virginia L. Garrett, Neva E. Poling, Mary E. Walters & Elda Painter and brothers, Harlan A. Leatherman & Carl L. Leatherman preceded him in death.
Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army; a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion; a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church; a 50+ year member of the Moorefield Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. and a longtime member of the Potomac Valley Men’s Choir. Paul was a lifetime farmer in the South Branch Valley who enjoyed spending hours in a recently plowed field searching for arrowheads. From the fields to the woods, Paul also enjoyed hunting, anything to be outdoors.
Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Frances Louise Turley Leatherman; two daughters, Paula (Loy) Kesner of Moorefield, WV and Debbie (Earl) Snyder of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Q.R. (Kimberly Maiden) Leatherman of Clements, MD and Bryan (Sheri) Leatherman of Moorefield, WV; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held after the national emergency has been suspended.
