Pastor Jimmy Ronald Stump, Sr., age 70 of Crossover Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, March 19, 2009 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born January 17, 1939 in Hardy Co., WV he was the son of the late Hiram G. & Mary V. (Southerly) Stump. Two sons, a brother and a sister preceded him in death. He was a Charter Member and the first Pastor of the Charity Baptist Church of Moorefield, and served as their Pastor for over 20 years. He rejuvenated and invigorated the congregation of Hilltop Bible Church in Criders, VA. He was always actively involved in World Mission and founded the T & M Mission in Memory of his two sons, Tony and Matt. He was a very avid gardener, who never met a stranger, and always had a moment to share with a child. Surviving is his wife, Mazie G. (Dove) Stump; two sons, Jimmy Stump, Jr. and wife Melissa of Moorefield, WV & Bruce R. Stump of Petersburg, WV; two step-sons, Benny Halterman of Montpelier, VA & Moses Halterman of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Glenda Bolyard and husband Harold of Moorefield, WV & Rosemary E. Snyder of Moorefield, WV; four step-daughters, Linda Crider & Geneva Ritchie of Timberville, VA, Mary Halterman of Broadway, VA and Jean Crawford of Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Johnny Stump, Sr. & Randall Stump, Sr. of Moorefield, WV; three sisters, Margy Wratchford & Francis Riggleman of Moorefield, WV and Peggy Stump of Keyser, WV; numerous grandchildren and two great-grand-children. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with his son Pastor Jimmy Stump, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Gardens, Route 55 near Moorefield, WV. The family will receive friends from 3 ? 5 & 7 ? 9 PM Saturday.
