Norman Dwight Newhouse, age 82 of Railroad St., Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 29, 2009 at Western Maryland Health System?s Memorial Campus in Cumberland, MD. Born July 3, 1926 at Rig, WV, he was the son of the late Mollie (Eye) Newhouse and the late Oliver S. Newhouse. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, was a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt, Post #9606 V.F.W; a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64, American Legion; a member of the 40 & 8, Voiture #1623; and a member of the Hardy County Rod & Gun Club. Surviving is a daughter, Wilma and husband Melvin Mallow of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Mary Crites of Rig, WV; two granddaughters, Marlo and husband Phil Curran of Moorefield, WV & Melissa and husband Rick Fishback of Winchester, VA; two great-granddaughters, Maegan Curran & Mollie Fishback and two step-great-grandchildren, Jimmy Fishback & Elizabeth Fishback. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army & the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 PM Saturday at the funeral home. A Veteran?s Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, ADA Research Foundation, Attn: Individual Giving Department, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
