Nancy Bell Helmick

Nancy Bell Helmick, age 90 of Central Avenue, Moorefield, WV formerly of Purgitsville, WV, passed away Sunday evening, November 20, 2016 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. She was born on March 31, 1926 in Moorefield, WV a daughter of the late Seymor Lorenza Hartman and Martha Ellen Seabolt Hartman. Her husband of 66 years, Frankie O. Helmick preceded her in death in May 2009. A son, Robert F. Helmick, two grandson, Eric Helmick & Leon Bennett, Jr., a step-grandson, four sisters, Icie Keplinger, Pearl Culp, Dottie Lipscomb & Ruby Turner and four brothers, William, Wilbert, Paul and Eugene also preceded her in death. She was the last member of her immediate family. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth & Mary Sue Helmick of Sterling, VA and Carl Helmick of Petersburg, WV; four daughters, Judith Bennett of Petersburg, WV, Jane Wellons of Moorefield, WV, Wilma & Eddie Sherman of Moorefield, WV and Deborah & Homer Davis of Burlington, WV; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Rick Bergdoll & Jeff Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the South Branch Memorial Gardens near Petersburg, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM Saturday until time of services at 1:00 PM.
