Mildred Frances VanFleet

Mildred "Millie" Frances (Coby) Van Fleet, age 94, of Baltimore MD, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Oakwood Care Center in Baltimore MD. Born on December 11, 1923 in Fisher WV, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William J. Van Fleet; her parents, Charles Edward Coby & Campsie Dell (Carpenter) Coby; two sisters and eleven brothers. After working 16 years at Bendix Aviation, Millie went back to school to earn her RN Certification in 1973. She helped establish the Outpatient Surgical Unit at Franklin Square Hospital and spent many years at the Outpatient Surgical Unit. She then turned her focus to private practice nursing where she fully retired at the age of 86. Surviving is a daughter, Betty (Van Fleet) Lowers of Dandridge TN; two sons, William C. Van Fleet of Dandridge TN and Stephen R. Van Fleet of Baltimore MD; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., Moorefield WV, with Pastor Harold George officiating. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield WV. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday, May 25, 2018, at the funeral home. The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Hardy County 4-H Camp Pinnacle, 144 Emergency Lane, Moorefield, WV.
