Mildred Marion Funkhouser, age 76 of First Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday morning, December 20, 2019 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Born on February 2, 1943 in Black Oak, MD, she was a daughter of the late Ina Susan Miller Leatherman. Her husband, Paul Edsell “Toad” Funkhouser preceded her in death in February 2005. Two brothers also preceded her in death.
Mildred was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she was an active participant in the “Feed My Sheep” program.
Surviving is a son, Wendell D. Miller of Keyser, WV; five step daughters, Nancy Vetter, Jammie O’Neill & Jill Funkhouser of Moorefield, WV, Jackie Ryan & JoEllen Reynolds of Annandale, VA; three brothers, Don Ray Leatherman of Old Fields, WV, Bobby Ray Leatherman & Clarence Leatherman of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Peggy Ann Bishop of Ridgeley, WV; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Harold George as officiant. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
