Mary Frances Green, age 83 of Dawnview Center, Ft. Ashby, WV, formerly of Baltimore, MD and Lee Street Apts., Moorefield, WV passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, MD. Born December 24, 1923 in Purgitsville, WV, she was the daughter of the late William A. & Carrie (Haggerty) Shoemaker. Three sisters, Anna Shoemaker, Viola Haggerty & Arvella Miller and a brother, Ivan Shoemaker also preceded her in death. Two great nephews and two great nieces whom she loved as her own grandchildren also preceded her in death. Surviving is a sister, Deloris Davis of Moorefield, WV; two nieces she considered to be her daughters, Shirley Crites and husband Steve of Moorefield & Sandra Bowman and husband Bernard of Purgitsville, WV; a step son, Robert J. Green and wife Carol of Taylorsville, NC; four step-grandchildren & six step-great-grandchildren. Surviving also is a great nephew and four great nieces that she loved as her own grandchildren, Shawna Crites & Angela Mowery of Moorefield, WV, Nena Wheeler & Troy Riggleman of Purgitsville, WV and Trina Snyder of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are numerous other nieces & great nieces and numerous other nephews & great nephews. Frances was a welder in the Baltimore shipyards during WWII, worked as a seamstress at Western Coatpad Company for 28 years and then worked at K-Mart after her retirement as a seamstress. She was a member of the Red Hat Society at Dawnview Center and a member of the senior centers in Baltimore, MD and Moorefield, WV. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with the Rev?s. Claude Wheeler & Wade Armentrout officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 6 ? 8 PM Friday at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield.
