Mary Alma Gilkerson

Mary Alma Gilkerson, age 88 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday morning, October 22, 2021, at the Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on March 14, 1933, in Raleigh County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Francis Joseph Pierson and Julia Ann Cunningham Pierson. Her husband, Marshall Gilkerson preceded her in death in May 1996. The last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by, a son Doug, a daughter, Alma Sheets, a stepdaughter, Donna Keplinger and 12 siblings.

Mary enjoyed many arts and crafts, including crocheting. Considered an outdoor person, she enjoyed spending time at camp, passing the time just watching the river flow or even trying her luck fishing. She so enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Surviving are three sons, Ronnie (Sharon) Adkins of Ocala, FL, Donnie (Debbie) Adkins of Beckley, WV and Chuck (Wendy) Adkins of Moorefield, WV; a stepson, Paul Gilkerson of Elkins, WV; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
