Mary Susan Eye

Mary Susan Eye, age 90 of Moorefield, WV passed away Wednesday morning, April 29, 2020, at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on November 29, 1929, in Kessel, WV, she was a daughter of the late Amos Ray Walters and Anna Rebecca Burns Walters. Her husband, Roscoe Ervin Eye preceded her in death in November 1999. A son, Douglas E. Eye, and a daughter, Joan Hogbin also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Moorefield Assembly of God Church and enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to older hymns. A hardworking mother and grandmother, her work ethic was unbelievable as she always was cooking, baking, gardening, and canning her bounty. All of this for her large extended family which was everything to her.

Surviving are three sons, Richard (Sharon L.) Eye and Donald (Sharon E.) Eye of Moorefield, WV and Robert (Anita) Eye of Purgitsville, WV; two daughters, Rebecca (Monty) Plum of Purgitsville, WV and Ellen Hardy of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Lawrence Walters of Flat Rock, MI; a sister, Catherine Riggleman of Berkeley Springs, WV; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service with Pastor Wade Armentrout, officiant, will be held at the Olivet Cemetery.
