Mary Virginia Barb, age 86 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017 at the E.A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Born on November 27, 1930 in Petersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Lester Vernon Kimble and Lillie Bell Hedrick Kimble. Her husband of 61 years, Allen Jackson Barb preceded her in death in October 2014. A brother Lloyd Kimble, a sister Pauline Roberson, and a son-in-law Jeff McInerney also preceded her in death. Mary was always at her husbands side, whether it was building fence, feeding the cows, making maple syrup or apple butter; they were self-sufficient. Her steadfastness and work ethic, she was one that would never complain. She was blessed with her family as she cherished their time together. She was someone who always stayed busy or just worked jigsaw puzzles with her husband. Her competitiveness would often be noticeable as the family would say, do not play Uno with her, she plays to win. She was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #102. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda & Terry Hulver of Baker, WV and Ella M. McInerney of Moorefield, WV; a granddaughter, Michelle & William Allison of Brentsville, VA; a grandson, Richard A. & Caitlin Hulver of Alexandria, VA; great-granddaughters, Jordan & Kathryn Allison at home, step-grandson, Matthew and Madlyn Hulver of Christiansburg, VA and step-granddaughter Melissa and Gary Chmielewski of Chicago, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the South Branch Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 Am until time of services at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
