Marvin Blaine Helmick

Marvin Blaine Helmick, age 87 of Harpers Court, Moorefield, WV passed away Tuesday evening, October 29, 2013 at his residence. Born July 11, 1926 in Hardy County, WV, he was the son of the late Parren L. Helmick & Maude (Funkhouser) Helmick. He was a Retired Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Army after 21 years and 5 enlistments spanning from 1946 through 1968. Two brothers preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Nancy (Weese) Helmick; two step-son, Ted Davis of Riverton, WV and Michael Helmick of Akron, OH; five step-daughters, Teresa Berg & Nora Phillips of Moorefield, WV, Becky Funkhouser of Baker, WV, Brenda Davis of Petersburg, WV and Frances Rohrbaugh of Maysville, WV; a brother, Donald Helmick of Old Fields, WV; three sisters, Emma Jean White of Cumberland, MD, Marion Hose & Ellen Wilkins of Augusta, WV; twelve step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Daryl Dunsmore officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 8 PM Thursday.
