Mark Bowen

July 21, 2002 — March 5, 2025

Baker, WV

Mark David Bowen, age 22 of Baker, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at home. Born on July 21, 2002, in Winchester, VA, he was a son of James Darrell Bowen and Terra Renee Staley Bowen of Baker, WV. Mark was a beacon of joy in the lives of his family and friends, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.

From his early days, Mark had a zest for life that was contagious. He dedicated many years to 4-H, where he cherished every moment spent at Camp Pinnacle, developing lifelong friendships and a love for the great outdoors. A proud Eagle Scout, he poured his heart into his project of improving the trail to Pinnacle Rock, showcasing his commitment to his community and the environment. Mark's adventurous spirit thrived in nature—whether hunting, searching for arrowheads and treasures with his metal detector, or spelunking in the fascinating caves of the area. He was also known for his craftsmanship; he loved masonry and built a stunning rock wall at his special “picnic area” at home.

Mark is survived by his loving parents, James and Terra Bowen, his three sisters, Mariah R. (Josh) Orgabisz of Moorefield, WV; his twin, Julie E. Bowen of Martinsburg, WV; Anna M. Bowen of Baker, WV; and his beloved nephew, Caden, who will carry forward the joy and laughter Mark brought to their lives.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street. Pastors Russell and Lucy Webster will officiate the ceremony. The family will welcome friends and loved ones beginning at 4:00 PM, giving everyone the opportunity to share stories, laughter, and memories that celebrate Mark’s extraordinary life.
