Marjorie Lee Zirk

Marjorie Lee Zirk, age 78 of Sycamore Bridge Rd., Old Fields, WV, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at her residence. Born August 19, 1931 in Hardy Co., WV, she was the daughter of the late Julian A. & Elizabeth (Southerly) Smith. Marjorie had retired as the librarian for the Hardy County Library after over 30 years of helping the public find the right book. Her husband Alec J. Zirk, Sr. preceded her in death in May 2006 and a son A. J. Zirk, Jr. also preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Newton of Moorefield, WV and Jacqueline Zirk of Old Fields, WV; a brother, Lester ?Jack? Smith of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Esther Greenwalt of Moorefield, WV and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 ? 7 PM Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Fraley Funeral Chapel, 107 Washington St. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Lukes Cemetery, Romney, WV. Because of her love of reading, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Moorefield Intermediate School Library Fund, 345 Caledonia Heights Road, Moorefield, WV 26836.
