Marjorie Leona “Polly” Flinn, age 79 of Moorefield, WV, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Tuesday morning, October 29, 2024. She was born on November 12, 1944, in Pensacola, FL ad daughter of the late James Mortimore McCauley and Frances Mae Sampley McCauley. Her husband, William “Bill” Albert Flinn, Sr. preceded her in death in April 2010. A granddaughter, Kaneshia Dyke and a sister, Joyce Virts also preceded her in death.
Marjorie worked several jobs, but she spent many years working at Pilgrim’s Hatchery. After she left there, she took care of several elderly clients in the area, which she enjoyed. After a few years, she decided it was time for her to be home and raise her children, she was a devoted mother.
She loved spending time with her family, enjoying sitting by the fire. She was happiest when her home was filled with her family. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was very active with her Kingdom Hall and hardly ever missed a service.
Surviving are her children; Gary (Kristi) Jewell of Cassatt, SC, Sabrina (Bill) McGuire of Moorefield, WV, David Flinn (Robin Barr) of Petersburg, WV, William Flinn, Jr. of Moorefield, WV, Ben Flinn (Pam Kane) of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Charlotte (Larry) Ellert; grandchildren, Heather McCoy, Hannah Cain, Rhiannon Follweiler, Tyler Jewell, Colton Dyke, Devin Dyke, Austin Barr, Hayden Flinn, Halley Flinn, Harley Flinn, Kortni Kerns, Kaeley Poling, Kenneth Kerns, Brittney Smallwood and Wesley Barr; great-grandchildren, Alyssa McCoy, Kinley McCoy, Serenity Dyke, Alena Dyke, Aiden Dyke, Jaxon Dyke, Hayden Myers, Lailyn Myers, Layne Myers; and nieces and nephews, Sydney Woodward, Owen Woodward, Larry (Jenny) Rhodes, Kevin Virts, Ginger (Hank) Woodard.
Per Marjorie’s request, she was cremated, and services will be held at a later date.
