Madalyn Rohrbaugh Burns

Madalyn Rohrbaugh Burns, age 90 of Lee St, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 11, 2008 at her residence. Born December 17, 1917 in Moorefield, WV she was a daughter of the late John W. & Nora Lee (Whitacre) Rohrbaugh. She was the owner/operator of Burn?s Diner for many years. She was a member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church for 78 years where she served as an Elder, a Deacon and also as Pastor?s Aid for more than 20 years. She was Past Matron, Order of the Eastern Star; and was many times President of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company?s Auxiliary. Her husband, Theodore P. Burns, a son, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Burns Patterson and husband John T. Patterson of Moorefield, WV and Patti Burns Michael and husband Harold K. Michael of Old Fields, WV; a brother, Charles H. Rohrbaugh of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Helen R. Rexroad of Moorefield, WV; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Moorefield Presbyterian Church with Pastor Katherine C. Jackson, Pastor Bruce Macbeth and her nephew Rick Bergdoll officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 ? 7 PM Saturday at the Fraley Funeral Chapel, 107 Washington St. She will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
