M. "Betty" Florence Kimble

Mayselle Florence “Betty” Kimble, age 74 of Caledonia Drive, Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, August 25, 2021, at J W Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on May 20, 1947, in Harrisonburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Charles Fredrick Riggleman and Texie Jane Watts Riggleman. She was also preceded her in death by her brothers Billy Watts and Benny Nelson, and the father of her children, Doug Kimble in November 2020.

Betty was a longtime member of the Valley View Golf Course, Valley View Ladies Golf Association after picking up golf later in life. She was the Owner/Operator of Kimble’s Amoco/B-P in South Moorefield for 46 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post #64 American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of The V.F.W. Post #9606.

Betty was a simple, kind-hearted, easy-going, lovable soul who had customers buy their gas from her, just so they could chat. A very outgoing person, she enjoyed traveling, especially with the lady golfers to area courses and to Myrtle Beach where she so enjoyed playing with friends. In declining health for numerous years, she never lost her sense of humor or her valued traits.

Surviving is a son, William Douglas “Bill” (Becky) Kimble of Moorefield, WV; a daughter, Robin Denise Kimble of Moorefield, WV; two grandchildren, William Drake Kimble and Grace Marie Kimble; a brother, Randy (Dottie) Watts of Petersburg, WV; a sister, Shirley Sprouse of Moorefield, WV and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, Moorefield, WV with Pastor Chris Whetzel as officiant. Interment will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home prior to services.

Due to the current COVID-19 recommendations, wearing of masks and social distancing by individuals unvaccinated is recommended.
