Lyle Gordon Steach

Lyle Gordon Steach, age 79, of S. Elm St., Moorefield, WV passed away Wednesday morning, January 2, 2008 at the Pendleton County Nursing Home in Franklin, WV. Born February 9, 1927 in Sweetwater, TX, he was the son of the late Claude & Alma (Loy) Steach. He was a retired veteran of the US Coast Guard with 27 years service and retired from the Moorefield Police department where he served as chief. His wife, Laura Grace (Zirk) Steach preceded him in death in April 2006. Three brothers and a sister also preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Kevin Steach of Morgantown, WV & William Steach of Albany, OR; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at St. Luke's Cemetery, River Road, Romney, WV. At his request, he was cremated.
