Linda Mae Sherman

Linda Mae Sherman, age 76 of South Fork Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday evening, May 31, 2021, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Born on February 23, 1945 in Purgitsville, WV, She was the daughter of the late Ervin Ours and Lena Mae Thorne Ours. Two brothers preceded her in death, Roger Ours and Robert Ours.

Linda lived a life of Christian love and service. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cleaning, but most of all she loved taking care of her family and dear friends. She shared her heart and talents freely with a humble yet mighty grace. Through her example, she taught her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to give selflessly and stand steadfast in their faith. Her legacy is love.

Surviving is her longtime companion, Alton Lane Lee;  a daughter, Robin (Shaylon) Miller of Seneca Rocks, WV; a son, George “Buddy” (Leana) Sherman of Old Fields, WV; three grandchildren, Michelle (Randall) Wolfe, Briana Hogbin and Madison Hogbin; two great-grandchildren, Danica Wolfe and Delanie Wolfe; six brothers; Roscoe Ours, Larry Ours, James Ours, Delmas Ours, Randy Ours & Michael Ours all of Purgitsville, WV; five sisters, Carol Ours of Moorefield, WV; Arletta  Miller & Esther Runions of Purgitsville, WV, Mary Barb of Old Fields, WV and Nancy Schwebel of Philadelphia, MS and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Private family Graveside Services will be held at the Mt. View Church Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV.
