Linda Carole Watts Delchamp, age 84 of Romney, WV, peacefully passed away Friday morning, July 12, 2024, at her beloved niece’s residence in Charles Town, WV.
Born on October 27, 1939, in Takoma Park, MD. Linda was a 1957 graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD and was a valued and loved employee of MetLife for 45 years. Linda’s passions were family, sports and animals. Linda had a special bond with her great nieces and referred to them as her grandchildren. Some of her greatest memories were watching Mary graduate from Nursing School and road tripping to Maine with Sarah. She was an avid Women’s College Basketball fan and Washington Nationals Fan. Linda loved attending the Nationals games with her nephew Michael Scaggs and was looking forward to attending a game this season. She especially loved cats, she donated to many animal charities, fed and cared for all the neighborhood strays for years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Franklin Dhue Watts, Mary Belle Edwards Watts and her brother Kenneth Wayne Watts.
Surviving her is a son, Michael Delchamp of Isle Au Haut, Maine; niece, Shirley Scaggs her husband Michael Scaggs and their two daughters Mary Scaggs and Sarah Scaggs of Charles Town, WV; Great Nephew Kenneth Watts and his wife Jaclyn Watts and their son Beau Watts.
Graveside Services will be conducted 11:30 AM Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Asbury Church Cemetery, 1688 North River Road, Baker, WV with Pastor Patricia Pittsnogle officiant. Interment will follow.
