Lillian Lee Shoemaker, age 76 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at Hampshire Center in Romney, WV. Born on September 1, 1947, on the South Fork, near Moorefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Brady Vernon Cullers and Ethel Elizabeth Ratliff Cullers. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles E. Cullers, Steven M. Cullers, Vernon Cullers and sons-in-law, Michael Steele and Dale Rotruck.
Lillian was a member of the Moorefield Brethren Church, the Pink Ladies and the Red Hats. She retired from Pilgrim’s Pride after a 30+ year career. A well-known quilter in the community, her handmade quilts are cherished by many who have them. In addition to her quilting, she enjoyed sewing, a lost task, and crocheting.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Connie Lee Steele (Robert Cleaver) of Romney, WV and Bobbie Jo Kuykendall of Moorefield, WV; brothers, Alvin (Kathy) Ratliff of Old Fields, WV and Woodrow (Delia) Cullers of Petersburg, WV; grandchildren, Richard, Lilli, Cassandra, Devon & Anthony and great-grandchildren, Percy, Link, Katie, Logan & Allyssa; step-great-grandchildren, Alexis & Bradley along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiants. Interment will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
