Leroy Redmon,

Leroy Redmon, Sr., age 89 of Hutter Road, Fisher, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born August 13, 1924 in Fisher, WV, he was a son of the late Ernest Robert Redmon and Betty Virginia (Clay) Redmon. Two granddaughters and four sisters preceded him in death. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Washington-Smith Post 152, Keyser, WV. A man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, he was also known for his small engine repair, his mechanical ability and even his carpentry skills. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Nellie R. (Gilmore) Redmon; two sons, Leroy & Delores Redmon, Jr. of Romney, WV and David & Lynne Redmon of Moorefield, WV; four daughters, Gwendolyn Redmon of Fisher, WV, Carol J. Thomas of Fisher, WV, Barbara A. Taylor of Moorefield, WV and Martita & George Harrington of Baker, WV; a sister, Helen Redman of Moorefield, WV; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, with Bishop Henderson Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at the Redman Family Cemetery, Fisher, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
