Lena Mae Coby

Lena Mae Coby, age 90 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, January 10, 2017 at the Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on January 29, 1926 in the Ft. Run area, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Carwell Shobe and Vern OTilly Hose Shobe Pratt. An infant daughter, two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death. She was a graduate of the Moorefield High School Class of 1945 where she played the French Horn for the MHS Band. She was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren and she enjoyed reading in her Bible daily. Upon retiring from a career in Nursing, Lena enjoyed traveling especially flying and with the church youth group on their mission trips. She was an advocate for youth as she was a Charter Member of the Durgon Yankees 4-H Club. Surviving are two sons, James E. & Carolyn Coby of Forest Lake, MN and Thomas A. & Patricia Coby of Annapolis, MD; five brothers, Landon Shobe, Murphy G. Pratt, Chester G. Pratt, Edwin M. Pratt, Jr. & Gerald A. Jake Pratt all of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Janet Bosley of Moorefield, WV; four grandchildren, Tom Coby, Kris Coby, Helena Coby & Nicole Coby and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friend from 6 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Moorefield Church of the Brethren, P.O.
