Larry Allen Ours

Larry Allen Ours, age 83 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, May 17, 2023 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on August 8, 1939 in Durgon (Moorefield), WV, he was a son of the late Mabel Virginia Ours Evans. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.

Larry was a Veteran of the U.S. Army of the Korean War. He loved to fish and was a known tinkerer of everything. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch, doing virtually “not much” just bird watching. A truck driver for most of his life, he traveled south and west with his wife camping. He most recently had been to Jennings Randolph Lake and Burnsville Lake in West Virginia, somewhere close to home.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Barbara Ann Lupton Ours; a son, Ricky Ours of Moorefield, WV; a grandson, Tyson Ours of Frostburg, MD; a granddaughter, Cosby Ours of Ft. Myers, FL; a great-granddaughter, Myline Ours; four brothers, Stan Evans of Tampa, FL, Doug Evans of Rockwell, TX, Dennis Evans of Moorefield, WV and Donald Evans of Baker, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Center at Grant Memorial, 117 Hospital Drive, Petersburg, WV 26847 or plant a tree in Larry’s honor.
